how effective are touch spells for an ele?
yea, basicley how safe, and is it worth for it to get in touch range of foes to use a spell?
p.s. I'm thinking about trying Star Burst

Not really. Monsters will eat you if you play around in melee range too much. The damage also isn't really much (if at all) better than a normal ele casting at range.
There's something to be said for wonky spike builds in low-level PvP, but not that much. They can score fast kills, but they tend to have massive survival and energy problems.

melee ranged skills on an ele tend to be crap. reserv them for farming or PvP gimick builds (i.e. starburst)

Touch range and point-blanks are baed, srssly.
None of them are quite as powerful as Rodgort's, they've got terrible ranges, crap damage, that nasty double aftercast, and they just plain suck.
The only one you're allowed to use is Flame Djinn's Haste, because the speed boost is pretty good for kiting stuff.

Pretty much, yeah. There's no such thing as 'better' Factions/Prophecies Fire elites though... they all suck hard.

hmmm... if we can all agree that Prophicies and Factions elite fire spells suck then I'm going to Sardelic Sanitarium to post one of those update petitions to make them alittile more useful (like what they did for Mesmer skills and elites in the Oct. 12 update)

Mind Burn might be useable if it did not cause exhaustion. Other than that, it's just another cap for a title.
Cheers,

agreed.
also the touch ele skills aren't worth doing cept when farming or pvp. Gimmicky builds like starburst is fun.
